The global pandemic and lockdowns have challenged many businesses, including those in promising growth phases. At the same time, climate change and environmental issues have not disappeared, and companies focused on green solutions and sustainability have many opportunities to grab.
To help Nordic green businesses go ahead with their plans to scale up on global markets despite the economic consequences of the pandemic, NEFCO is launching fast-track green recovery financing for Nordic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The purpose of the new loan programme is to accelerate the international adoption and scale-up of Nordic green solutions.
Nordic SMEs with commercialised green technologies and solutions can apply for financing. The loan can be used for investments, business development and working capital related to the company’s internationalisation projects outside the Nordic countries.
“The crisis is here and now, and we have therefore created a fast-track system for this loan programme. We want to help eligible companies proceed as soon as possible with their internationalisation projects. Nordic green businesses that grow globally help to strengthen Nordic competitiveness and contribute to the green transition we so urgently need,” explains Thor Thorsteinsson, NEFCO’s Vice President of Green Transition Nordic SMEs.
Projects may be related to a wide variety of green technologies and solutions, such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, industry processes and circular economy, as well as sustainable food production and agriculture.
